Robert Parker (93/100): "The 2015 Riesling Weissenkirchner Buschenberg comes from 29- to 45-year-old vines on mica schist. The vineyard is located straight behind the Klaus, pretty wind-protected and warm, but benefits from the Klaus's shadow in the afternoon. Due to the warmer site the grapes flower and ripen earlier and, according to Peter Veyder-Malberg, "it is important to harvest the Buschenberg before over-maturity and the loss of acidity." The 2015 shows a great intensity and clarity on the nose, is very aromatic and concentrated and indicates a spicy, mineral background. Think of small and thick-skinned, yellow-fleshed Riesling berries, because that's what you get from this wine. Broad, intense and round on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, fleshy and seductive Riesling with power, a nice tannin grip and a lingering salty minerality. This wine is rich, but still precise and substantial. Very good aging potential, though very different in its nature than the wines from the cooler Spitzer Graben."
