Robert Parker (94+/100): "From a single plot in the Doosberg that was planted by Angela and Peter Jakob Kühn in 1978, the 2018 Landgeflecht Riesling trocken Unikat was aged for a year in a single stück (1,200-liter oval oak cask), on the fine lees in stainless steel for another six months and in the bottle since April 2020. Released in September 2021, the vivid yellow colored wine offers an intense, generously rich, deep, refined, herbal/floral and fresh bouquet of ripe, white fruits seasoned with candied lemon zest, crushed black stone plates, hazelnuts and bright mint leafs. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich, firmly structured and finely tannic Riesling with the generosity and fleshy richness of the vintage that combines well with the oaky scents and structural elements. The wine is powerful and round yet not alcoholic and should be cellared for another five years, at least. Its herbal and saline finish gives it a purity and mineral freshness that indicates what we might expect in about 10 years. A fascinating, very different wine for Kuhn in context with the Grosse Gewächs bottlings of Doosberg and Sankt Nikolaus from 2019 and 2020. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022."
