Robert Parker (91/100): "From Grosskarlbach, Knipers's 2014 Burgweg Spätburgunder GG is intense and sweet on the nose, with lots of sweet cherry and floral aromas as well as spicy notes, but it is warmer and more generous or "German" than the excellent Kirschgarten. Intense, juicy and powerful but fine on the palate, this is a still-young Pinot that needs a while to find the finesse and lightness of the Kirscharten. The tannins are firm and crunchy, the juicy fruit really promising. The Burgweg may surpass the Kirscharten in a couple of years, but thus far you know what to drink and what to keep. Tasted during the preview of the GG wines in Wiesbaden in August 2018."
