Château Bellevue is een van de oudste wijngaarden van Saint-Emilion en prachtig gelegen op een zuidelijke helling van het kalkplateau. De wijngaarden van Château Angelus (1er Grand Cru Classé A) liggen er direct naast. Het is de eigenaar van Angélus, Hubert de Bouärd die onlangs voor 50% eigenaar werd van het château en zich sinds 2015 met het wijn maken bemoeit. De aanplant bestaat voor 100% merlot en wordt door De Bouärd dan ook wel de Pétrus van Saint-Emilion genoemd.
Robert Parker (92-94/100): "From a fabulous location on the south/southwest slope near such notable estates as the two Beausejours and Angelus, this 15-acre vineyard has produced 1,500 cases from yields of 24 hectoliters per hectare. A blend of 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it offers up aromas of crushed rocks, black raspberries, black cherries and cassis. An opulent, full-bodied St.-Emilion displaying sweeter tannins than normal, this impressively endowed, pure wine is capable of lasting 20-25 years.'
