Omschrijving
In 1962 werd Azienda Agricola Canalicchio di Sopra opgericht door Primo Pacenti. Het domein bevindt zich in het noordelijk gedeelte van de gemeente Montalcino. Canalicchio bezit 60 ha grond waarvan 15 ha met wijngaarden is aangeplant en2 ha met olijven. Reeds 3 generaties wordt er met veel passie en kunde wijn geproduceerd en gebruikt men de meest nieuwe technologieën met respect voor oude tradities en de natuur.De wijnstokken staan aangeplant in twee verschillende zones in Montalcino te weten: Canalicchio di Sopra en Le Gode di Montosoli. De verschillen in ligging en bodem zorgen voor verschillende types Sangiovese die in de kelders zorgvuldig samenversmolten worden tot een prachtig resultaat. In de neus zwarte kersen tabak en balsamico. Een mooi geconcentreerde en complexe wijn met soepele tannines en goede zuren. 100% Sangiovese. De wijngaarden liggen op een hoogte van 283 tot 290 meter boven het zeeniveau. Minstens 80% van de druiven komt van één wijngaard: Vigna Vecchia Mercatale.

This is exact how it should be. Riserva is an extension of annata, not an exaggeration of it. From a classic vintage, the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a special and highly collectible bottle. It shows depth and profound fruit with bright cherry, plum and crushed flower. It also manages greater concentration and density while maintaining its graceful personality. You'll need to add quite a few years of age to this wine. Production is a mere 4,133 bottles."
